Why Beichen forming board

The ceramic dewatering element forming board is installed in the forming section to drain water from forming fabric. It offers support to the forming fabric and prevent it from sagging.

After long time of constant running and operation, the forming board blades will sag, crack or deteriorate when attacked by the aggressive chemicals, abrasives or debris, the surface will be uneven. The uneven ceramic surface and damaged trims will cause paper defects and destroy the forming fabric. Series of problems will occur to increase the running cost, like forming fabric replacement, machine pause and extra maintenance.

What is forming board

Forming board is an equipment installed in the paper machine, located between the breast roll and the first dewatering element. Coarse paper is formed here with fabric wire goes through the forming board and enters to the following dewatering elements. The forming board has a decisive impact on the paper quality and the following wet suction steps.

As the first equipment of the forming section in paper making machines, the forming board box plays a decisive connecting role in the paper making process. It is installed to support the forming wire and prevent it from sagging, and helps the formation of the paper.

The main key function of ceramic dewatering forming board is to form paper after pulp flowing enters through the head box, and transfer to next steps. Ceramic dewatering covers with smooth surface on the top of the forming board box guarantee the flatness and evenness of the paper.

How it works

The forming board is located between the breast roll and the first dewatering element. It is very important for the forming of the paper.

In this area, there is a large distance of the forming wire without support. Which will be sag greatly under the gravity and pressure of the pulp flowing out of the head box, thereby destroying the formation of the paper. This problem is especially serious on wide paper machines. In order to flex this problem, the forming plate placed in this area can support the net and prevent it from sagging.

The forming board box consists one corrosion-resistant steel box and ceramic dewatering cover.

Usually, one wide strip and 4 narrow strips formed the whole forming board. The length of the first strip of the formed board is much longer than others, reaching 80-200mm or more. The length of the others strips are generally 30-50mm, and the distance between the strips is around 20-50mm.
