Divided Design

The ceramic dewatering element hydrofoils in the paper making machine consists of one corrosion-resistant steel box, FRP bars, and ceramic dewatering hydrofoil blades.
The corrosion-resistant steel box can be manufactured according to customer drawings in OEM.
FRP bars are with high strength for long-lasting use.
The ceramic dewatering hydrofoil blades can be replaced, regrinding for further using.
Number of strips can be 3, 5, or 7 Angles can be 0.5°, 1°, 1.5°, 2°, 2.5°.
Product Introduction
What is hydrofoil
The function of hydrofoils ("foils" for short) is to aid in removal of water from a wet web in the early stages of dewatering. On a Fourdrinier paper machine the foils are placed under the forming fabric. Their shape is designed to create suction as the foil and wet web pass over the surface. Hydrofoils also create a brief pressure pulse as the fabric passes over the leading edge. The alternating pressure and vacuum of a series of hydrofoils tends to move fibers around in the wet web, slightly improving the drainage and uniformity of the resulting paper. Also, the pulsation tends to change the drainage mechanism from pure filtration to a combination of filtration and thickening. The washing action of hydrofoils tends to remove fiber fines and fillers from the wire side(s) of a paper sheet. Another function of the hydrofoil is to doctor water from the under-side of the forming fabric.
Why installing hydrofoils
Paper formed by the forming boards contains massive water and fiber fines. The surface and thickness maybe uneven. Ceramic hydrofoils can help to remove the water in the leading edge and under-side of the forming fabric. Hydrofoils can be ground with angles for a more effective drainage performance. Fiber fines can be collected in the box and transferred to head box for reusing.
